Location search uses the Census Geocoder with ACS2024 district geography for street addresses. City and ZIP area results are precomputed intersections of 2024 TIGERweb place and district boundaries and 2020 Census ZIP Code Tabulation Areas. ZIP areas approximate postal ZIP codes and may span districts or state lines. Full street addresses produce more precise matches; cities and ZIP codes alone cannot identify a unique legislator in every case. Some PO-box-only ZIP codes and unincorporated place names have no matching area. Search results refer to the atlas’s 2026 session roster.
Bill numbers, short titles, primary sponsors, statuses and document links come directly from the Alabama Legislature website, retrieved September 6, 2026. This is a dated snapshot, not a live feed. The 2026 First Special Session is identified as 2026SS1 on the Alabama Legislature website.
“Introduced” counts distinct HB and SB bills with a first-reading date, grouped by the official primary sponsor ID. Co-sponsorships, resolutions and confirmations are excluded. “Enacted” requires the Alabama Legislature website’s status to be “Enacted”; passage or enrollment alone does not qualify. Enactment rate is enacted bills divided by introduced bills, expressed as a percentage. Members with no introduced bills have an undefined rate, shown as N/A, rather than 0%. Count colors scale to the largest value in the selected chamber and session; rate colors use a fixed 0–100% scale. Party is taken from the official member affiliation in the saved directory records. Bill text links use the latest available stage: re-enrolled, enrolled, engrossed, then introduced. Approved constitutional-amendment proposals may still require a public vote; an enactment status on the Alabama Legislature website does not imply an amendment is effective.
Maps use U.S. Census Bureau 2024 cartographic boundaries for the 105 House and 35 Senate districts serving the 2026 sessions. These simplified boundaries are for exploration, not address-level eligibility. The Legislature labels these maps House effective November 2022 and Senate effective November 2022.
The supplied House map is the 2021 House plan. The supplied 2025 Senate remedial plan concerns election boundaries, including changes to districts 25 and 26; it is not used to assign 2026 session sponsorship to serving senators. Member names and district assignments come from the official Legislature directory; members joining during a session have only their own introduced bills counted.
